Pakatan Harapan fails Indian community

PRESS STATEMENT
ARVIND KRISHNAN
NATIONAL MIC YOUTH SECRETARY

14th May 2017

For Immediate Release

Pakatan Harapan fails Indian community

Former Padang Serai member of parliament N Gobalakrishnan return to MIC proves that PKR and it’s allies Pakatan Harapan have failed to fulfil it’s promises to improve the Indian community socio-economic situation.

Gobalakrishnan in a statement added PKR’s vision and way forward are disillusioned.

PKR is only interested to free Anwar and make him as the Prime Minister.

Since they took power in 2008 till today, what they have done for the Indian community particularly in the Selangor state.

Do they have any vision or a solid blue print to uplift the Indian community?

What are the Indian PKR leaders doing in the Selangor state?

In 2015, I personally handled a temple land issue when Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) demolished the Sri Maha Madurai Veeran temple under Pakatan leadership.

There were many more temple demolition cases but Pakatan government ignored the calls.

There were cases at Sepang and Kajang.

In Sepang, the Municipal Council barged into a house and broke a shrine.

Later, the Kajang Municipal Council issued summons and fines to the Sri Mahamariamman Temple in Kajang, for excessive noise during prayer sessions in the same year.

Another classic example, once the Klang Municipal Council wanted to demolish a food stall near Taman Berkeley where MIC Youth had to intervene.

Even we had received cases on Indians having difficulties getting state house under Pakatan led government which they had to go through extensive red tape.

Pakatan should stop worrying and criticise the good efforts done by Barisan Nasional.

At Ijok Kg Sri Aman, Coalfield  houses were also demolished under Pakatan government.
MIC had to intervene to stop the demolition.

The Indians are getting annoyed with Pakatan Harapan for failing to address the issues.

Indians starting to lose trust and hope with the Opoosition pact due to internal power struggle.

Under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s leadership, he has launched Malaysian Indian Blue Print, uplift socio-economic terms, Tamil Schools upgrading, economic empowerment and many more.

Will Pakatan Harapan be able to show any clear agenda or vision for the Indian community?

Can Pakatan show any agenda to uplift the Indian community in the previous General Election manifesto.

Pakatan is only interested in playing politics to beat Barisan Nasional, but neglects the well-being of the rakyat.

Pakatan leaders only need the Indian community support during the General Election.

Once over, they will neglect them and begin to look for them after another 5 years when the General Election is around the corner.

Other issues

On another issue, even I have challenged the state government to take a serious action against illegal gambling dens and massage parlours mushrooming in Selangor state.

But no proper enforcement was taken by the state government.

Are they shielding the underworld gangs that operate illegal business?

Even recently, the Kajang Municipal Council attempted to
break a cowshed within Kajang area that has been there for almost 80 over years.

Why are they trying to disturb the livelihood of the Indian community in Kajang area?

The state government has a programme under agropreneur.

But why no representative come forward when the council attempted to break the cow shed?

Are they trying to practise double standard with the Indians.

Even the Subang Jaya Municipal Council once attempted to demolish a scrap metal business in Puchong operated by the Indians.

None of the Indian Pakatan leaders came forward to help the Indians during the demolition.

Can they show the number of education loan or assistance the state government have given to Indian students to excel in education?

Again it proves, PKR, DAP and its gang has failed the Indian community, and will continue to do so.
