The Malaysian Indian blueprint

The Malaysian Indian blueprint is a vision that sees to the development of the Malaysian Indian Community. Yesterday afternoon, I chaired the consultative meeting and moderated workshop sessions with representatives and leaders from the Indian community.

It was indeed pleasing to have overhelming support  from the  members of  various walks of life  irrespective of their political views, gathered to share their views for the betterment of the Indian community.

The panel comprised of academicians, economists, civil servants, NGO leaders, social leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs  and many others.

Based on their expertise and area of interest, they were divided to 9 focused groups, each discussing on a specific area of development, eg. education, entrepreneurship, business, women wellbeing, youth development etc.

The main focus of this meeting was on implementation. This blueprint is being drafted in a  holistic approach which is an outcome based and result oriented.  It is very vital to put a trajectory to this blueprint. The outcomes identified will have specific indicators and an achievable timeframe.

The Malaysian Indian Blueprint once completed, will be presented to Prime Minister who will officially launch it around April or May this year. As mentioned by our Prime Minister, this blueprint will be a living document which will be suited according to its time  and needs.

The blueprint will set framework for the development of Malaysian Indian community within the next 10 years. I would like to thank all the respectable members of the Malaysian Indian community who have attended our workshop  and provided their inputs.

நேற்று இந்தியர்களின் வருங்கால வளர்ச்சி திட்டத்தை விவாதிப்பதற்காகவும் அதனை முழுமையான முறையில் வரையறுப்பதற்கான ஒரு கருத்தரங்கு நடத்தப்பட்டது. இந்தக் கருத்தரங்கின் நோக்கமானது பல பிரிவுகளில் அதாவது கல்வி அடிப்படையில் ஆரம்பக் கல்வி தொடங்கி உயர்கல்வி, பொருளாதாரத் துறையில் சிறு தொழில் முதல் வர்த்தக ரீதியில் இந்தியர்களின் ஈடுபாடு, பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி, வேலை வாய்ப்புத் திட்டங்கள், வறுமை ஒழிப்புத் திட்டங்கள், வீட்டுடமை, ஆவணங்கள் தொடர்பான சிக்கல்களை எதிர்நோக்கக்கூடியவர்கள், அரசாங்கக் கொள்கையினால் சமுதாயத்தில் இருக்கக்கூடிய பிரச்சனைகள், குறிப்பாக சமயம் தொடர்பாக ஏற்படும் சிக்கல்கள், குடும்ப ஸ்தாபனம், பெண்களின் பங்கை உயர்த்துதல், இளைஞர்களின் சிக்கலைக் களைதல், விளையாட்டுத் துறை வழி மேம்பாடு காணும் அணுகுமுறைகள் போன்ற பல்வேறு பிரிவுகளின் அடிப்படையில் கருத்தரங்கு (workshop) மூலமாகக் கலந்துரையாடலும் விவாதங்களும் முதலில் நடைபெற்றது.

கலந்துரையாடலில் வழி சமர்பிக்கப்பட்ட பரிந்துரைகள் அனைத்தும் பரிசீலிக்கப்பட்டு ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டு முழுமையான திட்டமாக வரையப்பட்டு ஏப்பிரல் அல்லது மே மாதம் அளவில் பிரதமர் அவர்களால் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவிக்கப்படுவதோடு, தொடர்ந்து வரக்கூடிய 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு இந்திய சமுதாயத்தின் வளர்ச்சி திட்டமாகவும் இஃது அமையும். இத்திட்டம் ஒட்டுமொத்தமாகச் சமுதாய வளர்ச்சிக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்கப்பட்டு அமல்படுத்தப்படும் என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
