-MIC Youth Goes To Ground To Resolve Issue

KUALA LUMPUR- Yet again another protest was held in an institute of higher learning by their students. This time it took place in Syuen College located in Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur, where a group of students were misled by rumours that the courses offered in the college are not recognised by MQA.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA) has clarified the issue by explaining that Syuen College's courses have been granted temporary approval and it will only be finalised once the first batch of students graduate this year.

Having decided to get first hand information regarding this dispute, a delegation from MIC Youth, led by its Federal Territory Leader S. Arumugam, National Higher Education Bureau Head Thiripurabavan, and other council members paid a visit to the college. First, they met the board of directors that comprises of Mr. Shashi, Mr. Shoghi, and Mr. Sharul, before proceeding to lecturers and students themselves.

During the meeting, many issues were brought up by students for the attention of the MIC Youth. The committee members were advised to put the accreditation dispute to rest as MQA themselves have clarified its status. As for other issues, students were assured that MIC Youth will always stand by their side and help to resolve them.

Mr. Arumugam and Mr. Thiripurabavan also urged students to concentrate on their education as it is the foremost thing, and that any form of arising confusions should not hinder their studies. Issues should be addressed through proper channels and settled instead of taking matters into own hands.
